My art is about finding life through death. This work emphasizes the value of life while it is being lived as well as revisiting memories both experienced and genetic to reevaluate meaning. My work draws from such influences as 17th century Dutch still life paintings, 19th century American memento mori photography, and the archetype of the journey in literature (i.e. Dante's Comedia). My background is in photography, but I bring to this body of work my interests in ancient history, sewing, and digital manipulation thereby establishing myself as a mixed media as well as a digital artist.
